Maha Kumbh will take place in Prayagraj from January 13, 2025, until February 26. Approximately 45 crore pilgrims and visitors are anticipated to attend the Maha Kumbh. Numerous ministries and departments of both the central and state governments are occupied with making arrangements to offer the best services to the worshippers. Indian Railways has also made robust arrangements for Maha Kumbh.

Indian Railways will operate over 13,000 trains

For the Maha Kumbh 2025, the railways will operate over 13,000 trains in addition to 3,000 special trains. In addition to special trains, the railways will also implement various measures for the convenience of travelers at the fairground. As IRCTC establishes a tent city, travelers won’t need to queue for general tickets.

A total of 554 unreserved ticket counters have been established

To facilitate passengers, regular tickets will be available for purchase directly on the UTS app. As a result, travelers will be able to avoid waiting in line for tickets. In addition to this, railway staff will provide tickets to travelers using mobile ticketing machines located in the shelter and waiting areas of every station. A total of 554 unreserved ticket counters have been established. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, who came to assess the railway preparations on Sunday, stated that over Rs 5000 crore has been spent by the railways in Prayagraj in the past 2 years for the Maha Kumbh 2025 preparations.

Dedicated trains for Prayagraj from 50 cities

At this time, special trains will operate from 50 long-distance cities to Prayagraj. In addition to Mumbai and Chennai, direct trains will operate to Prayagraj from various locations including Guwahati, Rangapara North, Mumbai CST, Nagpur, Pune, Secunderabad, Guntur, Nanded, Visakhapatnam, Bhubaneshwar, Puri, Sambalpur, Kanyakumari, Thiruvananthapuram North, Chennai Central, Howrah, Dr. Ambedkarnagar, Vapi, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Vadodara, Valsad, Bhavnagar, Jaynagar, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Dhanbad, Patna, Gaya, Raxaul, Saharsa, Belagavi, Mysore, Udaipur City, Barmer, Tatanagar, Ranchi, and others.
