Maha Kumbh 2025: The city situated on the banks of the Ganges in Uttar Pradesh Prayagraj is going to become the center of cultural celebration. Preparations for the Maha Kumbh to be held in 2025 in the district are going on in full swing. This celebration will be for the whole 45 days, which will run from 14 January to 26 February. It is going to be almost three times bigger than the Maha Kumbh held in 2012. The state government has entrusted the responsibility of preparatory projects to more than 15 departments. In preparation, a target of completing more than 500 projects has been set.
About 40 crore devotees have been estimated to come to Mahakumbh 2025, accordingly arrangements are also being made in the city of tents settled on the city of Sangam. It is believed that most of the devotees will come by vehicles. According to an estimate by Mela administration and district administration, more than 55 percent of the devotees will come by buses, trucks, tractors, besides car-jeeps, while about 45 percent of the devotees will come by railways, roadways buses and planes.
1200 trains and 7 thousand buses
Railways will operate about 1200 trains and 7 thousand buses for the Maha Kumbh. For 45 days during the Mahakumbh, toll will not be collected from the vehicles of devotees at Umapur toll plaza on Chitrakoot highway, sugarcane toll on Rewa highway, Mungari toll on Mirzapur road, Handia toll on Varanasi road, Kokhraj toll on Kanpur road, Andhiari toll on Lucknow highway, Mauaima toll on Ayodhya highway.
No toll tax
“This time too, toll tax will not be charged from devotees coming by private vehicles during the Mahakumbh Mela. This exemption will remain for the entire Mahakumbh period. The process for this has started. Toll tax was not collected even in the last Kumbh 2019”, said Mahakumbh Mela official Vijay Kiran Anand.
Toll tax will be collected from those heavy vehicles, which are commercial and will be loaded with goods. For example, toll will be charged from trucks or vehicles loaded with other goods including bars, cement, sand, electrical and electronics. Toll will not be charged from all types of jeep-cars, even if they are registered in the commercial only.
