Kumbh Mela Site Catches Fire: A terrible fire created panic in the Maha Kumbh Mela area on Sunday. The fire broke out in the Civekanand Seva Samiti Varanasi camp on Tulsi Marg near Sector 19 Railway Bridge. At around 4pm, the fire started spreading rapidly, engulfing other nearby camps. The fire also affected many tents, creating panic. Sounds of explosions also accompanied this incident, making the situation even more serious.

Cause and effect of fire

According to sources, the cause of the fire spread is being told to be the gas eakagecylinders. As soon as the fire broke out, people were seen running away with other cylinders. In some time, the fire destroyed about a dozen tents, causing loss of property worth lakhs.

Rescue operation and relief work

As soon as the information about the fire incident was received, rescue teams and the NDRF team reached the spot. Many ambulances were also sent to the place. Four big fire brigades and eight small water tankers were sent to douse this massive fire. However, two fire brigade vehicles from the media centre are stuck in a traffic jam, causing a slight delay in the rescue work.

Fire prevention and safety measures

To avoid such incidents, it is essential to pay attention to some necessary safety measures:

Checking gas cylinders: Check the leakage of gas cylinders occasionally and maintain them properly.

Availability of fire fighting equipment: Every camp should keep fire fighting equipment like fire extinguishers and water tanks.

Emergency arrangements: Quick wait and response of emergency services is necessary at every location for a fire accident.

Speedy relief work

As efforts to control the fire are intensifying, the teams engaged in relief work at the spot are making every possible effort. The fire brigade and NDRF teams are trying to control the situation, and the local administration is also providing all possible help.

This incident has come as a warning during the Maha Kumbh Mela that safety measures should be implemented in time to prevent such incidents from occurring again. Relief work is ongoing, but the administration needs to pay attention to fire safety measures so practical steps can be taken to deal with such incidents.
