Weather Update: Cold wave conditions prevail in most parts of India. Due to the severe cold, people’s conditions are deteriorating. Snowfall has been continuous in the hilly areas for some time.
According to the Meteorological Department, the weather remains cold in areas like Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Western Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab. The cold continues in the northeastern states as well. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding heavy rain with thunderstorms in many parts of the country.
According to the IMD, the rain will continue next week. On January 5, the Meteorological Department says heavy rains will be seen in Jammu and Kashmir, Muzaffarabad, Gilgit, Ladakh, and Baltistan. Moderate rain is also expected in the northwestern plains from January 4 to January 6.
Cold Weather, Dense Fog Alert
According to the Meteorological Department, cold wave conditions are expected at some places in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh on January 2. During the morning and evening hours, dense fog may prevail in different areas of Haryana, Odisha, Punjab, and Chandigarh until January 2. On the other hand, similar weather will prevail in Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Sikkim, and Madhya Pradesh until January 3.
Snowfall Forecast for Himachal Pradesh
According to the Meteorological Department, fresh snowfall and rain are expected in the hilly areas from January 2. Snowfall intensity is likely to increase from January 4 to January 7. However, the weather will remain dry in the lower hilly regions and plains.
Heavy rains with thunderstorms are expected in many parts of Tamil Nadu. Dense fog may prevail in the northeastern states, including Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh.
Delhi Weather Update
The national capital may remain partly cloudy. Dense fog is expected in different areas of Delhi in the morning. There is a possibility of fog with light haze in the evening and night.
