Weather Update: The mood of the weather is changing very fast across the country. Heavy rain is falling in some places, dense fog is forming in others, and continuous snowfall is falling in the hilly areas.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert about fog and cold waves in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, and Rajasthan. On the other hand, a warning has been issued for heavy rains in many places in Kerala and  Tamil Nadu. Due to snowfall in the mountains, the cold wave has considerably reduced the mercury.

According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains in some areas of South India have caused waterlogging; traffic is causing problems for passersby due to waterlogging on the roads. Visibility is red in the morning, visibilityderably due to dense fog in Haryana and Punjab. The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in many country areas.

According to RMC Kerala, an orange alert was issued at one or two places in Ernakulam, Idukki, and Thrissur districts on December 12. The Meteorological Department has today predicted heavy rains in Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, and Wayanad districts. An alert has been issued regarding rain in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram and Kasaragod till December 13.

Alert Heavy Rainfall

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding heavy rains in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal until December 13 and then on December 16 at isolated places in these states. The Department has also predicted heavy rains in Kerala and Mahe on December 12, 13, and 16.

In Karnataka, heavy rains are expected in the South Interior region on December 12 and 13, while an alert has been issued for heavy rains in coastal Karnataka on December 13. According to IMD, the temperature will continue to fall for two days. The cold wave will continue in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Western Uttar Pradesh.

Cold winds are also expected to blow even during the day in Jharkhand, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. The temperature will drop significantly for four days in the plains, including Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Western Uttar Pradesh.
