IMD Weather Update: Many areas across the country are witnessing a severe outbreak of heat. Severe heat has hit most of the states of the country. However, some states are also getting relief from rain. Places like Arunachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim have been receiving rain for the last few days due to a western disturbance. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, strong winds have been expected at different places in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab in the last 24 hours.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department, strong winds, thunderstorms and fluctuations in temperature can be seen in many areas in the coming days. At the same time, sporadic rains can be recorded in some parts of the Northeast and South. Also, there is a possibility of heat wave conditions in some areas.
Rain alert in Uttar Pradesh
A different color of the weather is being seen in Uttar Pradesh. In many areas of UP, people are in a bad condition due to the scorching sun. Due to wind and rain, the weather is quite good in some places. Strong wind gusts have been seen for the last two nights. However, the heat will increase further in the coming days.
Warning of snowfall in hilly areas
According to the Meteorological Department, an alert has been issued due to light snowfall in the high altitude areas in the hilly states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Whereas, the weather will remain dry in the plains. Talking about western India, the heat has set in Rajasthan. The maximum temperature in Jaipur and Jodhpur is currently recorded at up to 35 degrees. The weather will also be hot in Gujarat.
Warning of rain in these states
According to the IMD, the weather in West Bengal and Odisha remains slightly good. Apart from this, light rain is expected in Kolkata. At the same time, the minimum temperature can be recorded between 28 degrees and the maximum temperature can be recorded between 33 degrees.
The weather is going to be transparent in Bihar and Jharkhand. But, light fog can be seen in Patna in the morning. Apart from this, the weather will be pleasant in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Here, the minimum temperature will be between 20 and the maximum temperature will be between 32 degrees. In the north-eastern states, light rain is expected in Assam and Meghalaya. Overall, there are chances of heat in some parts of the country, cold in some parts and rain in some parts.

During the next 24 hours, winds blowing from the north-west direction will continue. Mild weather can be seen in Delhi-NCR. Heat wave conditions can persist in the interior parts of Odisha, Chhattisgarh, South Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal today. Tamil Nadu and Gujarat’s coastal areas will likely remain hot and humid for the next 2 days. An alert has been issued for light to moderate rain and snowfall in Arunachal Pradesh.
