Weather Update: The month of December started today. The severity of winter is being seen more in some states of the country. The temperature will gradually drop. The weather in the capital remained completely dry in October and November. The severity of the cold wave starts in December and continues till February.
The temperature level in the capital Delhi and NCR starts falling very low. Heavy rains are continuing in many places in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand. Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department has issued an alert given heavy rains in many parts of the country.

Cyclone Fengal has caused heavy devastation in North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and surrounding areas. The Indian Meteorological Department has warned about heavy rains in Tamil Nadu, Kariyakal and Puducherry. Heavy rains are expected in Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Mahe, Rayalaseema, and South Interior Karnataka.
Rain warning
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry is possible on December 1. Heavy rains can be seen at different places in South Interior Karnataka and Mahe on December 2 and D. Similarly, rain may occur in Yanam, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema from December 1 to December 2.
A rain alert has also been issued in Lakshadweep. A warning has been issued for sporadic rains with thunder and lightning in South Interior Karnataka, Mahe and Kerala from December 1 to December 4.

According to the Meteorological Department, heavy snowfall is possible in the hilly parts of North India. In this, a phase of snowfall will also be seen in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh. Heavy snowfall is possible in the hilly areas of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand. Apart from this, dense fog can be seen in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi NCR.
Due to fog, visibility is expected to be very low. White sheets of fog can be seen in many parts of UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
