A passenger going to Prayagrajsaidd said he had a ticket for train 12583. He had a reservation in B2. The train was at 10:40, but at 8:30, the crowd at the station was so much that a stampede broke out. People were falling in front of the train, getting cut, getting crushed.
How did the stampede happen?
According to sources, a vast crowd had gathered at the station due to the sudden cancellation of two trains going to Prayagraj. After the announcement of the cancellation of trains, passengers panicked, leading to a stampede.

Administration’s negligence?
Although the railway administration initially denied the stampede, it is clear from the statements of eyewitnesses and passengers that the situation was serious. Was this the result of the administration’s negligence? Were passengers not informed about the train cancellations on time?
This incident again brings to the fore the issue of passenger safety at railway stations. Ensuring the safety of passengers during significant events like Maha Kumbh is a big challenge for the administration.
