The National Defense Academy (NDA) exam is conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for recruitment into the army. After completing military training, candidates are commissioned as Lieutenants in the Indian Army. From the rank of Lieutenant, cadets can rise through the ranks to Captain, Major, Lieutenant Colonel, Colonel, Brigadier, Major General, Lieutenant General, and General.

Salary of Lieutenant

The salary for a Lieutenant ranges from Rs 56,100 to Rs 1,77,500, under Pay Level 10.
