The government has retained an allocation of ₹19,000 crore for the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, which aims to improve road connectivity in rural areas. Launched in 2000, the scheme has sanctioned more than 826,708 km of roads, thereby promoting overall development.

Recently, “Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana” was started by the Central Government, through this scheme, the roads of all small and big villages of the country will be connected with the concrete roads of the cities.

The management of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana will be done by the village. This will be done through the name of Panchayat, Panchayat Samiti, and Municipality.

The main objective of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana is to connect the roads of rural areas with the roads of urban areas, because people have to face a lot of problems due to the roads in rural areas, due to the dilapidation of the roads, people have to move from one place to another.

There is a lot of difficulty in reaching the place, in such a situation the roads in rural areas will be connected to the urban roads. This scheme is going to prove effective in improving the standard of living of the citizens living in rural areas.

Along with this, repair work of broken roads will also be done, through this scheme people will easily reach hospitals and other workplaces through proper roads.

Planning Process Of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana

Under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, a planning process is first prepared for road construction. First of all a plan is prepared at the Panchayat level, which includes Panchayat, District Panchayat, and State Level Standing Committee, a plan is also made for the operation of this scheme at the block level.

Which is prepared by the Block Master Plan Committee, the existing road network will be created by the block and it will be identified which road networks are not connected to the cities, after which the process of connecting the road network to the cities will be started.

Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana Implementation Process

1. After getting clearance from the ministry, the project will be sent to the state government.
2. Funds for the scheme will be allocated by the state government only.
3. After completion of the process, tenders are invited through the execution committee.
4. Work on the scheme is started 15 days after the acceptance of the tender.
5. And the entire work is done within 9 months.
