Punjab Bandh Today:- Many farmer organizations have called for a Punjab bandh today, i.e., Monday, December 30. Punjab bandh has been called to support farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who is on hunger strike.
Today, the whole of Punjab will remain closed for 10 hours. Two organizations of farmers have called this bandh. During the Punjab bandh, roads, railways, and shops remain closed. Farmers want the Center to accept their 13 demands, including MSP, due to which the Punjab bandh was announced.
Let us tell you that efforts are being made to provide medical assistance to Dallewal amid deteriorating health, but he is refusing. He has been on hunger strike for 35 days. Farmers have about 13 demands, including a legal guarantee of MSP for all crops. In this call by the United Kisan Morcha, farmer leaders have also put some farmer leaders on duty at different places.
What is open, what is closed
Today, Punjab Bandh will be from 7 a.m. to 4p.mm. During this time, essential services, s including medical care, will continue. Wedding processions will also be allowed without restrictions. According to farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher, there will be a complete shutdown on Monday, but emergency services will continue. He said the Center is not ready to listen to farmers’ demands.
Milk vendors have also decided not to use the roads in Punjab Bandh. At the same time, this shutdown can also affect fruit and vegetable markets, as the streets are expected to remain closed most of the time. Truck operators also support this shutdown.
Transport- Transport services will start only after 4 pm today, i.e. Monday. Here, farmer unions have announced a chakka jam at more than 200 places on highways and link roads.
Fuel- Petrol and diesel pumps will operate so that essential services are not affected. However, the supply of LPG cylinders may be affected.
150 trains canceled
The protesting farmers are preparing to block the railway tracks. In such a situation, Northern Railway has decided to cancel 150 trains. These include 3 Vande Bharat Expresses between New Delhi and Vaishno Devi and New Delhi to Amb Andaura station.
Apart from these, the distance of Vande Bharat Express running between Chandigarh and Ajmer has been reduced. Many trains going to Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh have been cancelled.
