Due to unavoidable operational reasons, the 14005 Sitamarhi-Anand Vihar Terminal Lichchhavi Express will remain cancelled on Tuesday. Additionally, the routes of seven trains have been changed. Ashok Kumar, the Public Relations Officer of Northeast Railway Varanasi Division, stated that on Monday, the 11061 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Jaynagar Express took a diverted route via Satna-Khairar-Kanpur Central-Lucknow (Northern Railway) instead of the scheduled route through Manikpur-Prayagraj Junction-Prayagraj Rambagh.

Train Stoppage and Route Changes

The stoppages for several trains have been updated at the following stations: Chitrakoot Dham Karvi, Banda, and Kanpur Central.

  • 11060 Chhapra-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express: Diverted via Lucknow (Northern Railway)-Kanpur Central-Veerangana Laxmibai (Jhansi)-Bina-Itarsi, instead of the scheduled route through Prayagraj-Prayagraj Junction-Manikpur.
  • 11055 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Gorakhpur Express: Diverted via Satna-Khairar-Kanpur Central-Lucknow (Northern Railway), instead of Satna-Manikpur-Prayagraj Jn.-Prayag.
  • 15160 Durg-Chhapra Express: Running via Katni Mudwara-Sagar-Veerangana Laxmibai (Jhansi)-Kanpur Central-Lucknow (Northern Railway).
  • 19490 Gorakhpur-Ahmedabad Express: Running via Lucknow-Kanpur Central-Khairar-Satna.
  • 12167 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Banaras Express: Running via Itarsi-Bina-Veerangana Laxmibai (Jhansi)-Lucknow-Banaras, instead of Itarsi-Manikpur-Prayagraj Chheoki-Banaras.
  • 15231 Barauni-Gondia Express: Running via Varanasi Cantt-Lucknow, Kanpur Central-Veerangana Laxmibai (Jhansi)-Sagar-Katni Mudwara.

Kumbh Mela Special Trains

25 Kumbh Mela Special Trains will be operated today. These trains will run via Banaras City.

  • 05109 Banaras-Jhunsi Mela Special: Departs from Banaras station at 8 am.
  • 05105 Banaras-Prayagraj Rambagh Mela: Departs at 12:30 pm.
  • 01662 Banaras-Rani Kamlapati Mela: Departs at 2:45 pm.
  • 05107 Banaras-Prayagraj Rambagh Mela Special: Departs at 8:30 pm.

In addition, trains from Gorakhpur, Chhapra, Ballia, Bhatni, Mau, and Ghazipur will also run to Mahakumbh Jhunsi and Prayagraj Rambagh stations via City and Banaras stations.

Train Cancellations till February 20

Due to heavy demand for Mahakumbh special trains, four pairs of trains, including the Varanasi-Sultanpur Passenger, will remain cancelled until February 20. The affected trains are:

  • 54263/54264 Varanasi-Sultanpur Passenger
  • 54214/54213 Jaunpur-Prayagraj Sangam
  • 54375/54376 Jaunpur-Prayag Sangam
  • 14201/14202 Jaunpur-Raebareli Intercity

These cancellations will be in effect from February 18 to 20. These changes are part of the operational adjustments due to the Mahakumbh Mela. Passengers are advised to check their train schedules and stay updated.
