The IMD has issued a warning for heavy rains in Bihar, Jharkhand, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Eastern Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Gangi, West Bengal. A severe deep depression is expected to remain over Ganges West Bengal, potentially causing heavy rains in the surrounding coastal states. Along with this, it is likely to move continuously towards the north and north-west states at a speed of 8 kilometers. At the same time, heavy rains have been predicted in Odisha, Ganges West Bengal, Jharkhand, eastern Madhya Pradesh, eastern Uttar Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. Chhattisgarh has issued an orange alert for heavy rains in Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, there is pressure on the north-western part of the Bay of Bengal, where the possibility of a storm may remain. As a result, winds are continuing at a speed of 45 to 55 to 75 kilometers per hour in coastal areas and surrounding states. Meanwhile, the continuous rain has prompted the issuance of a storm warning. The Meteorological Department has forbidden fishermen from venturing into coastal areas, especially in West Bengal and Odisha.
