Tibet Earthquake Update:- So far, more than 125 people have died in the earthquake in Tibet near the Nepal border. The number of people killed in the quake is continuously increasing. Reuters reported that the earthquake’s epicentre was 80 km (50 miles) north of Mount Everest, the world’s highest mountain. Tremors also shook buildings in neighbouring Nepal, Bhutan, and India. The earthquake has caused extensive devastation across the country. The China Earthquake Networks Center found the epicentre in Tingri County, known as the northern gateway to the Everest region, at a depth of 10 km (6.2 miles).

AFP reported that rescue workers had to search the rubble for trapped people. “Houses here are made of mud, so when the earthquake hit… a lot of houses collapsed,” the 34-year-old said. The video shows people running through store aisles as shelves vibrate violently, sending objects such as toys to the ground.

The National Center for Seismology (NCS) said that the first tremor was felt at 6:35 am IST, with a magnitude of 7.1. Two tremors were felt soon after this. The first tremor was 4.7 magnitude, which came at 7:02 am at a depth of 10 kilometres, while the second was 4.9 magnitude.
