The Indian automobile market is gearing up for an exciting year in 2025, with many impressive launches lined up. The list includes popular models like the Maruti Frontx Facelift, Renault Bigster, New Renault Duster, Kia Carens Facelift, and the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado.
Many popular models are set to make their debut, offering Indian consumers a range of options across both petrol and diesel segments. These upcoming vehicles promise fresh designs, advanced features, and impressive performance, catering to a wide variety of preferences and needs.
1. Maruti Frontx Facelift
The Maruti Frontx Facelift is set to launch in 2025 with several exciting updates. This revamped model will feature a new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder hybrid engine, aimed at delivering better fuel efficiency. It will also include a Level 1 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), offering features like Lane Keep Assist, Forward Collision Warning, and Lane Departure Warning. Maruti claims that the Frontx will deliver a mileage of over 35 km per litre, making it one of the most fuel-efficient SUVs in its class. It promises to be an affordable SUV packed with advanced technology and enhanced safety features.
2. Renault Bigster
The Renault Bigster will come for a 2025 release as a 7-seater SUV, with a length exceeding 4.57 meters. It will be available in both petrol and hybrid variants, including a 1.2-litre mild-hybrid turbo petrol engine. The hybrid model is designed to operate on up to 80% electric power in city driving. Key features include a 10.1-inch touchscreen, a panoramic sunroof, and adaptive cruise control. The Bigster also boasts a 667-litre boot space, various driving modes, and a roof rack, making it a practical choice for families seeking a spacious and versatile SUV.
3. Toyota Land Cruiser Prado
Toyota plans to launch the Land Cruiser Prado in India by the end of 2025. The SUV will come with a 2.8-litre turbo diesel engine, delivering 201 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. Additionally, a 2.4-litre petrol hybrid variant will also be available, featuring mild hybrid technology to enhance fuel efficiency.
The Prado will be equipped with advanced features designed for tackling rough terrains. One notable feature is the front anti-roll bar, which can be removed for improved wheel articulation, making it ideal for off-road adventures. Inside, the Prado will offer upgraded leather upholstery, larger displays, and increased interior space. This luxurious off-road SUV is tailored for adventure seekers who value both performance and comfort.
4. Kia Carens Facelift
The Kia Carens facelift will be launched in 2025. This facelift will get an all-new design and updates. The front will get new LED headlights and new bumpers along with a new grille. The old design lines of the previous model have been removed. The new model has updated tail lamps and an LED light bar. It will also get features like a dual-screen setup, 360-degree camera system and wireless charging.
The new Carens will get all the existing engine options, including 1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre turbo petrol as well as 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel. It will be available in manual and DCT options, including 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT. It is equipped with ADAS features like six airbags, tyre pressure monitoring and lane assist. It will be priced between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 20 lakh.
5. Grand Vitara 7-Seater
The Grand Vitara 7-seater is set to launch in 2025, designed for larger families. This new variant features a third row of seats, updated styling, a refreshed grille, and modern alloy wheel designs. The interior closely resembles the 5-seater model, boasting amenities like a panoramic sunroof, a 9-inch touchscreen, and wireless charging.
The SUV will offer two engine options: a 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 1.5-litre strong hybrid unit. The hybrid system may be adjusted to handle the extra weight of the third row. Expected to be priced between ₹20 lakh to ₹25 lakh, the Grand Vitara 7-Seater aims to provide a premium experience in its segment.
6. Toyota Hyrider 7-Seater
The Hyrider 7-seater model is based on the Grand Vitara platform. This wagon version is expected to launch in 2025. It will have a longer wheelbase to support additional third-row seating. This new model will get mild strong-hybrid and strong hybrid engines. Some of the options will include a 1.5-litre strong hybrid and a hybrid for maximum fuel efficiency. The Hyrider 7-seater model will get a bold front grille, angular LED headlights and new tail lamps. Luxury options like panoramic sunroof, ADAS and modern infotainment will be offered inside the car. The Toyota Hyrider will be a great family SUV, offering space, power and technology.
7. Kia Syros
Kia is set to launch its new compact SUV, the Syros, in January at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The Syros boasts a bold design, featuring boomerang-shaped LED DRLs, larger air intakes, and square-shaped wheel arches. The interior is driver-focused, equipped with a multifunction 2-spoke steering wheel, a 360-degree camera, and a panoramic sunroof.
Engine options include a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.0-litre turbo petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel. Transmission choices range from a 5-speed manual to a 7-speed DCT, catering to diverse driving preferences. The Syros aims to stand out as a stylish, feature-rich compact SUV in its segment.
8. Next-Gen Hyundai Venue
The Next-Gen Hyundai Venue is expected to hit the market by the end of 2025. This refreshed model features updated headlights, a new grille design, and a revamped rear look. The interior will offer increased space, a redesigned dashboard, and new colour themes.
The powertrain lineup includes a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.0-litre turbo petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine, similar to the current model. Additionally, it will come with Level 2 ADAS features like adaptive cruise control, lane assist, and autonomous emergency braking. The Venue will be produced at Hyundai’s new Talegaon plant and is expected to be a strong contender in the subcompact SUV category.
9. Nissan Mid-Size SUV
Nissan’s new mid-size SUV is set to come on the same platform as the Renault Duster. The vehicle will be launched by 2025. This SUV will get 1.3-litre turbo petrol and 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engines. There will be a new AWD system with the SUV for better grip and control. This new Nissan SUV will compete with the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
10. New Renault Duster 3rd generation
The third generation of Duster from Renault is expected to arrive in India by 2025. It will be a tall SUV with the same rugged look. The Duster will be sold with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol unit. The 1.5-litre will be available in CVT and manual variants, while the 1.3-litre will have a CVT option. On the interiors, the car offers a 7-inch digital display with a 10.1-inch touchscreen display screen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Wireless charging, cruise control and 18-inch alloy wheels are additional features of the car. Safety features include lane assist, automatic emergency braking and ADAS. The SUV will be offered with AWD for better off-road performance.
