Shardiya Navratri Kanya Puja 2024: Shardiya Navratri started yesterday, i.e., October 3. We worship all forms of Maa Durga with rituals on this auspicious occasion. At the same time, Navratri begins on the Pratipada date of Ashwin month and ends on the Navami date. It is only on Ashtami or Navami that the tradition of performing Kanya Puja with rituals is observed.

According to religious texts, the worship of Navratri is considered complete only after Kanya Pujan if we believe in it. There is a tradition of feeding nine girls and receiving blessings to worship Kanya. This tradition stems from the belief that nine girls represent the nine forms of Maa Durga. People believe accepting these girls’ blessings will make all of life’s troubles disappear.

Apart from this, happiness, prosperity, and peace come into the house. In this context, let’s delve into the method and significance of Kanya Pujan during Navratri.

Kanya Pujan Vidhi:

You invite girls to worship Kanya on Ashtami or Navami, depending on your preferences.

Then, make a resolution to worship Kanya during Ashtami or Navami celebrations.

To worship Kanya, prepare prasads such as halwa, chana, and kheer and offer them to Mata Rani ji.

Whenever these girls come home, they wash their feet with clean water.

After this, make the girls sit on the seat and feed them halwa, chana puri, or dahi jalebi.

After they finish the prasad, give them Dakshina according to your wishes and send them off.

Understand why Kanya Pujan is important during Navratri.

During Navratri, devotees worship nine forms of Durga Maa through rituals. This nine-day festival gives particular importance to Kanya Pujan. This is attributed to the belief that girls embody the form of the goddess. If we adhere to religious beliefs and worship Maa Rani with devotion and reverence, Maa will always be kind to her devotees. She takes away all of the sorrows that come with life.
