Recruitment in Anganwadi: There are 709 vacant posts of Anganwadi workers in Sonbhadra district of UP, out of which recruitment process has been started for 530 posts. Due to the vacancy of the posts, other activities including nutrition distribution are getting affected. However, after the completion of the recruitment process, the arrangements are expected to improve.
2079 centers are being operated in the district. Where 1370 workers have been deployed while 709 Anganwadi posts are vacant. Out of the vacant posts, recruitment was to be done in the year 2023 for selection on 555. For which a large number of women had applied, but even after that 25 posts remained vacant due to no one applying. The recruitment process was stuck due to the matter being pending for about one and a half years. Due to which recruitment was not being done. Once again the recruitment process has been started for 530 posts in the month of March.
After checking the online applications, the priority list has been prepared and published on the instructions of the government. In the first priority, widows and divorced women of BPL category have been included. If these are not available, then in the second priority, destitute, divorced and then other women of APL category are to be selected. For this, a crowd of applicants is gathering in the DPO office every day.
The process of recruitment for 530 posts has been started in the district. In this, women are being selected on the basis of priority. In the recruitment process, 14 Divyangs, three freedom fighters and 44 widows have been given priority. Their selection is considered almost certain. While the remaining posts will be selected on the basis of priority under the government order.
1370 workers are posted in 2079 Anganwadi centers operating in the district. Out of which recruitment process is being adopted for 530. Even after recruitment on these posts, 179 Anganwadi posts are vacant. Due to which each Anganwadi worker has to be given the responsibility of two centers. Those too are such centers which are quite far from each other. Due to which the distribution of nutrition and other departmental works are getting affected.
Due to the shortage of Anganwadi workers and assistants, the operation of the centers is also running on God’s mercy. The process of recruitment for 530 Anganwadi posts has been started in the district. The list has been published on the basis of priority. Women will be selected from the list only. Soon the process will be completed and the final list will be published. If anyone asks for money in the name of recruitment, then inform the department immediately. Action will be taken against such people.
