MPSC Exam: A big change is going to happen in Maharashtra, which has been announced by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis himself. He has announced that all competitive examinations conducted through Maharashtra Public Service Commission i.e. MPSC will be conducted in Marathi. On Wednesday, he made this announcement while answering a question raised by Shiv Sena MLA Milind Narvekar in the State Legislative Council.
Exams should be in Marathi
Milind Narvekar said that some examinations related to agriculture and engineering are conducted only in English. Then he asked why engineering related examinations are not being conducted in Marathi? In response to this question, CM Fadnavis said that these examinations are already conducted in both Marathi and English. However, the court had ruled in some cases that some examinations (especially those related to agricultural engineering) should be conducted only in English.
The decision was taken due to this reason
The CM said, ‘When the matter was brought to the court, discussions were held at the government level and it was found that text books for these subjects were not available in Marathi. This was brought to the notice of the court and it accepted the argument’. The Chief Minister said that efforts are underway to provide Marathi text books for technical subjects. He said that a timeline will be set with the MPSC and these exams will also be conducted in Marathi. He said that this decision is expected to benefit those Marathi speaking students who want to take the MPSC exam but face difficulties due to language barriers.
