Ration Card Holders: This Diwali, tremendous news is coming out for ration card holders. Now, the ration will be available twice a month instead of once. Yes, you heard it right, in fact, the Jharkhand government has made this Diwali special for the people of its state.
The Soren government has made a big change in the rules of ration cards for the poor, under which now they can get ration twice a month.
A backlog ratio will be available for the people from December 2023 to February 2024, which has been decided to be given in the coming months of October, November, and December.
What are the changes
The Jharkhand government had already announced changes in the rules of ration cards, which caused people to get grains at the rate of Rs 1 per kg. The government has started the Green Ration Card Scheme for this, under which people get the benefit of the scheme of Rs 1.
After the recent meeting, the state government announced that it has directed to add 5 lakh more cards to the number of Green Card ration card holders. Later its number is expected to increase from 20 lakh to 25 lakh. At present, the number of people taking advantage of this scheme has reached 17 lakhs.
How will the ratio be available twice
In the meeting of the Soren government, several schemes have been started to provide rations to the eligible people found in the Food Security Act, which have also been amended.
The government gave the green signal to this scheme in the cabinet meeting. Under this scheme, in October, people will get a ration of December 2023 from 1 to 15 and a ration of October 2024 from 16 to 31 October.
In the same sequence, the ration for January 2024 will be available from 1 to 15 November, and the ration for November 2024 from 16 to 30. After this, they will be provided a ration of February 2024 from 1 to 15 December and a ration of December 2024 from 16 to 31 December.
