New FASTag Rule: To make FASTag more secure and easy, the government has implemented new rules. If you have not updated it yet, then hurry up, otherwise you may face trouble.
You already know FASTag, that small tag that is stuck on the windscreen of your vehicle and makes payment without stopping at the toll plaza. But now its rules have changed. If you have not heard about these changes, then you may have trouble.
What are the new rules of FASTag
According to the new rules, you have to update the KYC details of your FASTag. If your FASTag is three to five years old, then you have to update your KYC by 31 October 2024.
Apart from this, you will also have to link the complete information of your vehicle to FASTag. This includes the registration number of the vehicle, chassis number, and mobile number of the owner.
If you have recently bought a new vehicle, then you have 90 days for this. You have to update the registration number on FASTag within 90 days.
Not only this, you will also have to upload a photo of your vehicle. The front part of the vehicle should be visible in the photo.
What to do if your FASTag is old
First of all, check whether the information given in your FASTag matches the National Vehicle Registry database or not. If there is any difference, you may face problems. Therefore, get your information verified.
If you have not updated your FASTag yet, then get it done quickly. For this, you can contact your bank or the company issuing FASTag.
Keep these things in mind
FASTag users also have to keep in mind that the information about the vehicle they have and the information recorded in the vehicle registry should be the same. If there is any difference between the two, you may face problems. Therefore, verify the details of your vehicle.
If you do not follow the new rules, you may face problems at the toll plaza. Therefore, get the necessary updates done as soon as possible.
