‘Vande Sleeper’ is expected to be started in January 2025. Vande Bharat Sleeper, prepared by BEML, will travel long distances overnight. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav unveiled the prototype of the train in September 2024. Work is being done to start Vande Bharat Sleeper trainset in National Transporter Jammu and Kashmir.
New Delhi-Srinagar Vande Bharat Sleeper
This train will run between New Delhi and Srinagar. It will be maintained and operated by Northern Railway Zone. According to a news article published in ET Now, the railway official said this train would directly connect Delhi to Jammu and Kashmir.
In the coming time, this train should also be run till Baramulla. The New Delhi-Srinagar Vande Bharat Sleeper train will cover a distance of more than 800 km in less than 13 hours. The Vande Sleeper train will run on the USBRL project, which is being completed in mission mode.
The Vande Bharat Sleeper train from New Delhi to Srinagar will leave at 7 pm and reach Srinagar at 8 am. This train will go to Srinagar via Ambala Cantt Junction, Ludhiana Junction, Kathua, Jammu Tawi, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Sangaldan and Banihal.
The New Delhi-Srinagar Vande Bharat Sleeper train will have AC 3 Tier (3AC), AC 2 Tier (2AC) and AC First Class (1AC) facilities. The fare for 3AC will be around Rs 2000, 2AC will cost Rs 2500, and for First AC, the fare will be Rs 3000.
