Ingredients for making Gatte ki Sabzi:
250 grams gram flour
One tablespoon soda
3 to 4 tomatoes
4 to 5 green chillies
1 inch ginger
Half cup fresh curd
Half cup cream
Four tablespoons oil
A pinch of asafoetida
One teaspoon cumin powder
One teaspoon turmeric powder
One teaspoon coriander powder
One teaspoon red masala powder
Salt according to taste
Finely chopped coriander
Method of making Gatte ki Sabzi:
First of all, take gram flour in a bowl. Add half a teaspoon of turmeric and half a teaspoon of salt and knead it well. Make long balls of kneaded gram flour with your hands.
Heat water in a pot. When the water is completely hot, steam the gram flour balls in it. When the balls are cooked well for 5 to 7 minutes, take them out and let them cool.
After they cool down, cut them into small pieces. Now heat 4 to 5 teaspoons of oil in a pan. Let the cumin seeds and asafoetida crackle and when the tempering crackles, add all the ground spices and tomato paste to it.
Fry for 5 minutes. When the spices are fried, add half a cup of curd and a teaspoon of Kasuri Methi and cover it. When the masala starts leaving oil, add half a glass of water to it. As soon as the gravy boils, add the prepared balls to it and cover it with a lid and cook for 5 to 7 minutes. Serve the prepared vegetable by chopping finely coriander leaves.
