Varat Sukhi Aloo Making Tips: The festival of Navratri is considered very special in Hinduism. In these nine days, nine forms of Goddess Durga are worshiped. To please the Goddess Mother, many devotees fast for the entire nine days. During fasting, people consume only fruits and fast food. At this time, things made from potatoes are very much liked.
Potatoes provide instant strength and are also wonderful in taste. One such fun and quick potato dish is Chatpatte Sukha Aloo. These can be eaten with buckwheat and water chestnut flour puris and parathas, or if you want to eat something light, you can also eat it with curd. So let’s know the easy method of making fasting fruit-eating Chatpatte Sukha Aloo.
Ingredients to make Falahari Sukhi Aloo:
Desi ghee (2 tsp)
Cumin seeds (1 tsp)
Green chillies (2-3)
Curry leaves (8-10)
Ginger paste (1 tsp)
Boiled potatoes (4-5)
Vrat wala salt (according to taste)
Black pepper powder (1/4 tsp)
Roasted peanuts (1/2 cup)
Coriander leaves (a little)
Lemon juice (1 tsp)
Method to make Chatpatta Vrat Wale Aloo:
First of all, place a pan on the gas and heat desi ghee in it.
When the ghee is hot, add cumin seeds, curry leaves and chopped green chillies to it. Fry them for some time.
Now, add ginger paste and fry for about a minute, until its rawness goes away.
Cut the boiled potatoes into big pieces or mash them. Now, add the potato pieces to the pan.
Add Vrat wala salt and black pepper powder.
Cover the potatoes and cook on medium flame for 5-7 minutes.
Now, grind the roasted peanuts coarsely and add them to the potatoes.
Cook them for another 3-4 minutes so that the peanuts are cooked well.
Add finely chopped coriander leaves and lemon juice.
Serve hot Chatpatta Vrat Wale Sukhi Aloo.
