Ingredients for making Dahi Tadka:
One bowl of thick curd
Half a bowl of finely chopped onion
Half a bowl of finely chopped tomato
Two to three finely chopped green chillies
Half a piece of finely chopped ginger
Finely chopped coriander leaves
Two teaspoons of ghee
One teaspoon of cumin seeds
One teaspoon of mustard seeds
Two pinches of asafoetida
Half a teaspoon of turmeric
Half a teaspoon of Kashmiri red chilli
Salt according to taste
Method of making Dahi Tadka:
First of all, heat two teaspoons of ghee in a pan. When the ghee is hot, add cumin seeds, mustard seeds and curry leaves and temper it. When the tempering crackles well, add finely chopped green chillies and finely chopped onions and fry for 1 to 2 minutes. When the onion is fried a little, add turmeric and chilli and mix it. When the onion and spices are fried well, add finely chopped tomatoes and cover and cook for 1 to 2 minutes. When all the spices are cooked well and mixed together, add one bowl of curd to it. Keep stirring the curd on low flame and cook for 1-2 minutes. Do not cook curd on high flame for too long otherwise its taste will get spoiled. Finally mix salt and finely chopped coriander according to taste.
