Vrat Special Idli Recipe: The holy festival of Navratri is just a few days away! This year, Chaitra Navratri is starting from March 30. This special festival is celebrated with great pomp all over India. In this nine-day festival, different forms of the Goddess are worshiped. Devotees of Goddess Maa also keep fast after worshiping with a true heart. In Navratri fast, people eat fruits once a day. In such a situation, you can cook and eat the things eaten during the fast. If you want to eat something healthy and tasty during the fast, then Sama rice idli is a great option. It is a light food, which is also easily digested. Here is how to make Vrat Wali Idli:

Ingredients to make Vrat Wali Idli:

One cup Sama rice
Two tablespoons Sabudana flour
Half cup curd
Water as required
One teaspoon baking soda
Rock salt as per taste

Method to make Vrat Wali Idli:

Firstly, grind the Sama rice well in a mixer and make a powder of it.

Now, add Sabudana flour, curd, salt and water in a bowl and mix it well.

After mixing well, keep it aside for a while.

When everything swells and thickens, mix it once with a spoon.

Add water as per the requirement to this batter, then add soda and mix well.

Now, grease the idli mould with oil and fill the batter in the moulds.

Pour water in the idli steamer. Place the moulds on top of it and steam for 15 to 20 minutes.

When the idlis are ready, take out the moulds and keep them aside to cool.

Once cooled, take out the idlis and eat with the vrat chutney.
