Ingredients to make Coconut Gujiya:

Flour – 2 cups
Ghee – 2 tbsp
Baking soda – 1/2 tsp
Salt – 1 pinch
Lukewarm water – for kneading the dough
Grated coconut – 1 cup
Finely chopped dry fruits (almonds, cashews, raisins) – 1/2 cup
Powdered sugar – 1/2 cup (according to taste)
Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp
Oil – for frying

Method to make Coconut Gujiya:

Prepare the dough:
Sift the flour and add ghee, baking soda and salt to it.
Knead a soft dough with lukewarm water and cover it for 30 minutes.
Make the stuffing:
Mix grated coconut, powdered sugar, chopped dry fruits and cardamom powder in a bowl.
Mix everything well.

Make Gujiya:

Make small balls of dough and roll them to make small puris.

Place coconut stuffing in the centre of the puri.

Apply water on the edges to stick them well.

Make designs with your hands or with the help of a Gujiya mould.

Fry:

Heat oil in a pan and fry the Gujiyas until golden brown.

Remove the fried Gujiyas on tissue paper.
