Ingredients for making Aloo Puri:
Two boiled potatoes (cool and mash)
One cup wheat flour
One teaspoon turmeric powder (for color)
Half teaspoon chaat masala (spicy taste)
Oil – for frying puris
Method of making Aloo Puri:
First of all, let’s prepare the dough for the puri. Take out the flour in a big vessel.
Add two teaspoons of ghee to it (ghee makes puris crispy). Then add half teaspoon turmeric and salt according to your taste.
Now mix all these well with hands, such that the masala dissolves in the flour.
Slowly add lukewarm water and mix the dough.
Mash the boiled potatoes very finely and add it to the flour and mix well.
Now knead a soft dough. Keep it covered for 5 minutes. This will make the dough even softer and the puri will become crispy.
Heat the oil in a pan. The oil should be hot on medium flame.
Make small balls from the dough and roll them into puris.
Put the puri in hot oil and fry till golden brown on both sides.
That’s it, your crispy aloo puri is ready! Prepare all the puris in the same way.
How to serve?
This aloo puri is amazing on its own, but you can serve it with rajma, dahi raita or your favourite vegetable. It tastes delicious!
