It contains all the vitamins and minerals that help you stay active throughout the day. When the energy level is low during fasting, eating sabudana is the best option.
So, today, we will teach you a straightforward and secret recipe for making sabudana fry. It is so amazing that everyone will not get tired of praising you!
To make sabudana fry, you need:
One cup sabudana
Two boiled potatoes
Half a cup of peanuts
1-2 green chillies
Half a teaspoon of rock salt (for fasting) or salt to taste
Half a teaspoon of black pepper
Half a teaspoon of ginger paste
Some coriander leaves, finely chopped
One teaspoon of arrowroot flour (or water chestnut flour)
Oil for frying
How to make sabudana fry:
First, soak the sabudana in water for 5-6 hours. This is necessary so that the sabudana swells well and becomes soft.
When the sabudana is soaked, add mashed potatoes, peanuts, finely chopped green chillies, ginger paste, rock salt, black pepper powder, and coriander leaves.
Now add arrowroot or water chestnut flour to it. This flour will help bind the mixture well, and the sabudana will not stick while frying.
Mix everything gently. Make sure that the mixture is not too wet.
Now, heat the oil in a pan. The oil should be hot enough to make the sabudana fries crispy.
Add the mixture to the hot oil and deep fry until golden brown. Do not add more than 2-3 spoons at a time, or they may stick together.
Take out the fried sabudana on a tissue paper. This will drain out the excess oil and keep the sabudanas crispy.
Finally, sprinkle some chaat masala on top (if you are not making it for fasting).
That’s it! Your crispy and tangy sabudana fries are ready. Serve it hot with Kalahari chutney or curd, and get all the compliments!
Fact Check:
Sabudana is indeed a good food for fasting. It is rich in carbohydrates, which give you instant energy. Also, it is easy to digest, which keeps the stomach light during fasting.
