White peas – one cup

Water – two cups

Salt – according to taste

Chopped potato – one

Oil – one teaspoon

Asafoetida – one pinch

Cumin seeds – one teaspoon

Finely chopped onion – one

Chopped green chili – two

Finely chopped tomatoes – two

Ginger garlic paste – one teaspoon

Red chili powder – one teaspoon

Turmeric powder – half teaspoon

Garam masala – half teaspoon

Cumin seeds – half teaspoon

Finely chopped coriander – one bowl

Method of making matar chaat

To make the street matar chaat, first of all you have to soak it. Then soak one cup of white peas and keep it in a bowl. Soak peas in water overnight so that they swell well.

Now throw away the water from the peas the next day, then boil them. To boil peas, put them in a cooker with a glass of water on the gas. You have to boil peas with about 3-4 whistles. Now cut a potato and add a teaspoon of salt in the cooker. Keep the amount of water only half a finger above the peas. It can also dissolve with more water.

Now turn off the gas and remove the pressure of the cooker, then filter them with a sieve and take them out in a bowl. Now put a pan on the gas, heat two teaspoons of oil in it, then add cumin seeds to it. As soon as the cumin seeds crackle, add a pinch of asafoetida, add 2 small chopped chilies, add 1 onion finely chopped, make the flame medium. Then add a teaspoon of garlic and ginger paste to it.

Now as soon as the onion is fried, add finely chopped tomatoes to it. After this, add salt according to taste. When the tomatoes melt, add all the spices to it and mix it well. Now when the masala is cooked properly, add boiled peas and mix it. Let it cook for five minutes. Now when the water dries up, serve the pea chaat and eat it by squeezing chopped onion and lemon on top.
