Kanda and Poha are considered to be the famous breakfast of Maharashtra. It is prepared in a very tasty form by mixing some selected spices.
Ingredients for making Kanda Poha
250 grams Poha
Three finely chopped onions
One finely chopped tomato
Half bowl of roasted peanuts
Half teaspoon turmeric powder
Half teaspoon red chili powder
Half teaspoon garam masala
Finely chopped coriander leaves
Juice of one lemon
Half bowl of shavings
Salt according to taste
Method of making Kanda Poha
To make Kanda Poha, first of all, wash the Poha thoroughly with water and remove all the water from the Poha and keep it in a plate. Heat a pan on the gas, add three tablespoons of oil and let it heat.
When the oil is hot, temper it with half a teaspoon of mustard seeds, finely chopped green chilies and curry leaves. When the tempering crackles, add finely chopped onion and finely chopped green chilies. When the onion is fried, add finely chopped tomatoes and fry for 2 to 3 minutes. When the onion and tomato are fried well, add all the prepared spices to it and stir for 1 to 2 minutes. When all the spices are fried well, add the soaked poha to it and mix well. Fry on high flame for two to three minutes. Finally, add finely chopped coriander and lemon juice to it. Take out the poha in a plate and serve it by adding sev on it.
