Litti Making Tips: Litti Chokha, a famous dish of Bihar, is liked by every Bihari as well as people from outside. You must have tasted the Litti Chokha of Bihar. No matter which city you live in.
Litti is made in many ways. But the famous litti is made on fire. Often we do not have the facility of lighting fire in our homes, so we can enjoy litti by frying it. The filling inside the litti is made from gram flour which is very tasty and healthy to eat. You can eat litti with potato eggplant chokha or mix veg chokha or tomato chutney. So start making litti!
Ingredients required to make litti:
500 grams flour
250 grams gram flour
1 inch piece of ginger
15 to 20 garlic cloves
Finely chopped coriander leaves
Half teaspoon cumin powder
Two teaspoons pickle masala
Juice of one lemon
Half teaspoon black salt
One teaspoon celery
One teaspoon nigella seeds
100 grams ghee
Method of making litti
Take flour in a big vessel, add two teaspoons of ghee and half teaspoon of salt and knead a hard dough well. Cover the kneaded dough and keep it for half an hour.
Now take sattu in a bowl, add finely chopped onion, finely chopped ginger, finely chopped garlic and green chillies and mix. Mix celery, nigella seeds pickle masala and black salt well with the lentils. Finally add coriander leaves and two teaspoons of mustard oil. Now our litti stuffing is ready.
Take small balls of dough and fill them with the prepared filling and seal them tightly. When all the littis are filled, heat oil on the gas and cook the littis on medium flame until they turn brown.
