Ingredients for making multigrain appe:
Two teaspoons chickpeas
Two teaspoons black eyed peas
Two teaspoons kidney beans
Two tablespoons semolina
Half teaspoon turmeric powder
Two teaspoons red chili powder
Half teaspoon chat masala
Half teaspoon mustard seeds
One bowl of oil
Salt according to taste
Method of making multigrain appe
Soak all the grains and lentils in water overnight. Next morning, clean the lentils thoroughly and make a fine paste in the mixer grinder jar. In this mixture, add turmeric, chili, dry mango powder, cumin powder and salt according to taste and mix well. Keep it aside for 10 to 15 minutes to set.
Now place the appe vessel on the gas flame and add half a teaspoon of oil and let it heat up. As soon as the oil becomes hot, add two to four mustard seeds to it and add the appe batter and cover it well. After 5 to 6 minutes, flip the appe and apply a little oil so that it becomes crunchy. It takes only 15 to 20 minutes to prepare the appe.
