Falahari Cheela Recipe: The holy festival of Navratri is celebrated twice a year—first Chaitra Navratri and second Sharadiya Navratri. During this time, devotees worship Goddess Durga and observe a nine-day fast. This year, Chaitra Navratri will start on March 30. Devotees who observe fast eat fruits only once a day, so eating food rich in nutrients becomes necessary during fasting.
Today, we have brought you tasty and healthy Falahari Cheela made from Rajgira flour. Apart from being excellent in taste, it also gives the body energy. Come, know the easy method of making it.
Ingredients required to make Falhari Cheela:
1 cup Rajgira flour
Half a cup of fresh curd
Water as required
1 cup grated bottle gourd
3 tbsp coarsely ground peanuts
1 tsp cumin seeds
Rock salt as per taste
1/4 tsp black pepper powder
1/4 tsp red chilli powder (optional)
Some finely chopped fresh coriander
1-2 finely chopped green chillies
Ghee for frying
Method to make Falhari Cheela:
Prepare Rajgira flour
If Rajgira flour is unavailable, you can make fresh flour by grinding its seeds in a mixer.
Add Rajgira flour and curd in a large vessel. Mix it well and keep it covered for 5-10 minutes.
Prepare the batter
Now add a grated bottle of gourd and peanut powder to it.
Mix the mixture well and add water so the batter is neither too thick nor too thin.
Add spices
Add cumin seeds, rock salt, black pepper powder, red chilli powder, coriander leaves and green chillies to the batter.
Mix everything well to make a smooth batter.
Start making cheese
Now heat the pan and apply a little ghee.
Pour the batter into the pan, give it a round shape,e, and let it cook on low flame.
When it becomes light golden from one side, flip it and fry from the other side.
Apply ghee and fry till it becomes crispy from both sides.
Serve
Hot Falahari Cheela is ready! Serve it with fasting green chutney or curd.
Important Tips:
If you do not eat red chilli or green chilli during fasting, then you can skip it. Add grated carrots or boiled potatoes to make the cheese more delicious. Before putting the cheela on the pan, make sure that the pan is not too hot, otherwise the cheela will not spread properly. Roasting it in desi ghee will increase both taste and health.
