Chaitra Navratri Special Khichdi Making Tips: The holy festival of Chaitra Navratri is starting, and during this time, people who keep fast consume satvik food. If you also want to eat something special and healthy in Navratri, this special khichdi is perfect. It is not only tasty but also very beneficial for health.

Ingredients to make khichdi:

Sama rice – 1 cup
Sabudana – 1/2 cup
Peanuts – 1/4 cup
Potato – 1 medium size, chopped
Green chili – 2 finely chopped
Ginger – 1 inch piece, grated
Curry leaves – 5-6
Rock salt – as per taste
Desi ghee – 2 tbsp
Water – 3 cups
Green coriander – for decoration

Method to make khichdi:

First, wash sama rice and sago and soak them in water for 15-20 minutes.

Now, heat desi ghee in a pan. Lightly roast the peanuts and keep aside.

Temper with green chillies, ginger and curry leaves in the same pan.

Now, add potatoes and fry till golden brown.

Add soaked sama rice and sago and mix well.

Add water and rock salt and cook on low flame.

Add roasted peanuts and coriander leaves and mix when the khichdi is cooked.

Serve hot khichdi with curd or vrat chutney.
