Ingredients required for making Palak Dal:
500 grams spinach
Mixed dal
One finely chopped onion
One finely chopped tomato
Finely chopped ginger and garlic
One teaspoon garam masala
One teaspoon turmeric
One teaspoon coriander
One teaspoon chili
One teaspoon cumin
Two to three dried red chilies
Finely chopped coriander
Salt according to taste
Method of making Palak Dal:
First of all, wash the spinach thoroughly. Put the spinach and mixed dal in the cooker and cook for 2 to 3 whistles and take it out in a pan. Now put the pan on low flame and add cumin seeds and dried red chili to this oil and as soon as the tempering crackles, add finely chopped onion, ginger, garlic and finely chopped tomato and fry for 2 to 3 minutes. When it is fried well, add all the spices.
Cook for 1 to 2 minutes and while the spices are frying, mix the boiled spinach dal well. Now when the spices are fried well, add mashed spinach dal to it and let it boil on high flame for 5 to 6 minutes. When the spinach dal is boiled well, add finely chopped coriander to it and serve it with cumin rice.
