Moong Dal Chilla Recipe: Want to eat something light and healthy for breakfast? Then moong dal cheela is a great option. It is not only tasty but also rich in protein and fibre. It is also easy to make; your whole family will love it.
Ingredients to make moong dal cheela:
Moong dal – 1 cup
Ginger – 1-inch piece
Green chilies – 2
Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
Asafoetida – 1 pinch
Salt – to taste
Oil – as required
Coriander leaves – finely chopped (for garnishing)
Onion, finely chopped (optional)
Tomatoes, finely chopped (optional)
Method to make moong dal cheela:
Soak moong dal in water for 3-4 hours.
Take out the soaked dal from the water and put it in the mixer.
Add ginger, green chillies, cumin seeds, asafoetida, and a little water, and grind it fine.
Add salt and finely chopped onions and tomatoes (if using) to the ground dal mixture.
Heat a non-stick pan and pour some oil on it.
Spread the dal mixture in a round shape on the pan.
Fry the chilla on both sides till it turns golden.
Serve hot moong dal chilla garnished with coriander leaves and chutney or sauce.
