Ingredients required to make Rava Idli:

If you want to make Rava Idli so note down the ingredients :

  • 2 cups Semolina or Rava
  • 1 cup Curd
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • Salt (as per taste)
  • 1 cup or as required Water
  • Oil – 1 tbsp for greasing

Recipe to prepare the Rava Idli:

  • First of all take Yogurt in a bowl and put semolina (rava) in it and mix well.
  • Add some water in the mixture and add some salt in it. Now keep this solution for 20 minutes.
  • After completion of the stipulated time, add baking soda to the solution and mix it well. Please make sure that the solution should not be too thick or too thin.
  • Now prepare the cooker, so for that Put 2 small glasses of water in a cooker and keep it on medium flame.
  • After that Grease the idli stand with some oil.
  • With the help of a spoon Fill the batter in each idli dish.
  • Assemble the idli stand and place it in the cooker and put the lid on.
  • Let the idli cook in steam for 8 to 10 minutes. Turn off the gas.
  • Remove the idli stand from the cooker, once it cools down, remove the idli with the help of a knife and keep it in a plate.
  • Soft rava idli is ready. Serve them with sambar, coconut chutney, gram dal chutney or peanut chutney.

Some Points to keep this in mind during preparation of Rava Idli:

dont mix the batter too much by adding baking soda or Eno. As soon as the batter starts appearing puffy, stop stirring the batter with a spoon.
