Bihari Style Aloo Sehjan Curry  Making Tips: Today we will talk about a dish from Bihar, which is not only amazing in taste, but is also good for health! That is – Bihari style Aloo Drumstick spicy vegetable! Hey, this is not just a vegetable, it is a complete festival in itself!

What is this Aloo Drumstick Jhol?

Simple calculation, potato and drumstick (called drumstick in English) are cooked in a spicy gravy. This vegetable is made in every house in Bihar, especially in the winter season, when drumstick is available fresh. Its taste is a little spicy, a little sour and very spicy!

How is this wonderful vegetable made?

Ingredients:

Potatoes – 2-3 (medium size, cut into pieces)
Drumsticks – 4-5 (cut into about 2 inch pieces)
Onions – 2 (finely chopped)
Tomatoes – 2 (finely chopped)
Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp
Green chillies – 2 (finely chopped)
Mustard oil – 2-3 tbsp
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Bay leaf – 1
Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Garam masala – 1/2 tsp
Salt – as per taste
Water – as per requirement
Coriander leaves – for garnishing
Method of preparation:
Heat mustard oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and bay leaves and temper.
Add onion and fry till golden brown. Then add ginger-garlic paste and green chillies and fry.
Add tomatoes and cook till soft.
Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt and mix well. Add some water and fry the spices.

Add potatoes and drumstick and mix well. Add some water and cover and cook until potatoes and drumstick become soft.

Add garam masala and mix.

Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves. Eat with rice or roti, you will enjoy it!
