Ingredients:

  • Mushrooms: 500 grams
  • Curd: 1 cup
  • Gram flour: ½ teaspoon
  • Garam masala: 1 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice: 1 teaspoon
  • Salt: according to taste
  • Oil: 2 tablespoons
  • Cumin seeds: 1 teaspoon
  • Bay leaf: 1
  • Kashmiri red chili: 1 teaspoon
  • Onion (chopped): 2
  • Garlic cloves: 4-5
  • Ginger: 1 inch
  • Tomatoes (chopped): 2
  • Green chili: 2-3
  • Cashews: 2 tablespoons
  • Coriander leaves: for garnishing

How to make Mushroom Tikka Masala:

Prepare the mushrooms: Wash the mushrooms and cut them in half.

Masala marinade: Mix yogurt, red chilli, turmeric, coriander, garam masala and gram flour in a bowl. Add mushrooms and lemon juice and leave for 20 minutes.

Fry the mushrooms: Heat oil in a pan and fry the mushrooms till golden brown and keep aside.

Gravy masala: Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and bay leaves. Then fry onion, garlic and ginger till golden brown.

Tomatoes and cashews: Add chopped tomatoes, cashews and salt and cook for 2-3 minutes. When the spices soften, grind them in a mixer to make a paste.

Make the gravy: Heat oil again in a pan and fry the masala paste. Add some water and boil for 2-3 minutes.

Add mushrooms: Add roasted mushrooms to the gravy and cook for 2-3 minutes.
