Tomato Chutney: Making tomato and garlic chutney is very easy. You can enhance the taste of paratha, puri, dosa or uttapam with this chutney. The taste of this tomato garlic chutney can be further enhanced by tempering with whole red chillies and mustard seeds.

Ingredients for making tomato garlic chutney:

500 grams tomatoes

15 to 20 garlic cloves

Half a teaspoon of mustard seeds

Half a teaspoon of cumin seeds

Half a teaspoon of turmeric powder

Half a teaspoon of red chili powder

Half a teaspoon of asafoetida

Half a teaspoon of garam masala

Salt according to taste

Two teaspoons of oil

Method of making tomato garlic chutney:

To make tomato chutney, first of all wash the tomatoes well and after giving 1 to 2 whistles in the cooker, take them out in a plate. Now remove all the peels from the tomatoes and make a fine paste with the help of a mixer grinder. Clean the garlic well and remove the peel and prepare a fine paste of it too.

Now put two tablespoons of oil in a pan and when the oil becomes hot, add cumin seeds and mustard seeds to it. When the tadka crackles, add a pinch of asafoetida and add half a teaspoon of turmeric, chili and garam masala and fry for 1 to 2 minutes. As soon as the spices start giving out a good aroma, add the tomato puree to it and cook on low flame for 5 to 6 minutes. Finally, add salt as per taste and finely chopped coriander leaves to it. If you follow this recipe step by step, then this chutney will be very tasty.

 

You can also store this chutney for two to three days.
