Ravindra Jadeja on Retirement Rumors: This was before the start of the Champions Trophy 2025 tournament, when rumours of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja retiring from the ODI format were at their peak. When Ravindra Jadeja hugged Virat Kohli after completing his spell in the Champions Trophy final, rumours of Jadeja’s retirement once again gained momentum. Now Jadeja himself has broken his silence on the news of his retirement.
ODI World Cup
Ravindra Jadeja has shared a post on social media, in which he has rubbished the retirement rumours and said, “Don’t spread useless rumours. Thank you.” Let us remind you that Jadeja had said goodbye to the T20 format after India’s T20 World Cup win last year. Now it seems as if the 36-year-old Jadeja has made the 2027 ODI World Cup his target. There are still two years left for that World Cup to be organized and by then Jadeja will be 38 years old.
If we look at Ravindra Jadeja’s performance in Champions Trophy 2025, he scored only 27 runs while batting in 3 innings. It is not right to judge his performance from these figures because Jadeja was seen batting at the eighth position. With his spin bowling, he took the wickets of 5 batsmen in the tournament.
Captain Rohit Sharma also put an end to the rumours
Just before the final match of Champions Trophy 2025, there were reports that Rohit Sharma might retire from the ODI format. He had put an end to his T20 career last year itself. But in the press conference after winning the Champions Trophy, Rohit Sharma said, “I want to make it clear that I am not retiring from the ODI format. Please do not spread false rumours in future.” Recently, news has also come out that Virat Kohli will continue playing at least till the 2027 ODI World Cup. However, there has been no confirmation on this matter yet.
