IPL 2025: The umpire panel has been announced for the new season of IPL 2025. This time seven new Indian umpires have been given a chance. These umpires include Swaroopanand Kannur, Abhijit Bhattacharya, Parashar Joshi, Anish Sahasrabuddhe, Keyur Kelkar, Kaushik Gandhi and Abhijeet Bengri. In addition, experienced umpires S Ravi and CK Nandan have been appointed as mentors of umpires in IPL 2025. IPL 2025 will start from March 22 and the first match will be played between KKR and RCB at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata.

Plan to give experience to new umpires

The BCCI believes that giving new umpires a chance to play in high-profile and pressure-filled matches like the IPL will give them valuable experience. According to the Times of India, former Tamil Nadu cricketer Kaushik Gandhi has been included in this panel. He has played 34 first-class matches and this will be his second season as an umpire. However, he has already umpired women’s international matches and the Women’s Premier League and his performance has been impressive.

Anil Chaudhary will do commentary

This time, among the international umpires, Sri Lanka’s Kumar Dharmasena will not be seen umpiring in IPL matches. Apart from this, Anil Chaudhary, who will umpire in IPL 2024, will also not be seen this time. Anil Chaudhary has turned to TV commentary and now he will be seen in the commentary box. This time Tanmay Srivastava can also umpire in IPL. Recently UPCA (Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association) had announced that Tanmay has been given the responsibility of umpiring in IPL 2025.
