Played an important role in Shami’s comeback
He also played an important role in Mohammed Shami’s return to international cricket after more than a year. After his comeback, Shami made an important contribution to India’s victory in the Champions Trophy 2025. The report also claimed that Nitin Patel is currently looking after the rehab of Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah was injured during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and has been out of action since then.
Under his supervision, the recovery of Shreyas Iyer and Jasprit Bumrah was successful ahead of the 2023 ODI World Cup. India remained unbeaten in this tournament and reached the final. Shreyas Iyer scored 530 runs, while Jasprit Bumrah played an important role in India’s success by taking 20 wickets.
Reason not revealed
The reason for Patel’s resignation is not yet clear, but as per reports, he has submitted his papers. Jasprit Bumrah is still undergoing rehabilitation process, so it remains to be seen if Patel’s departure will have any impact on his recovery. It is being claimed that Bumrah may also be out of the first few matches of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
