The Indian women’s team has been announced for the three-match ODI series against New Zealand. After being eliminated from the group stage in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, Harmanpreet Kaur’s captaincy was in doubt, Even Mithali Raj questioned about captain’s role, but the board has expressed confidence in Harmanpreet Kaur in this series and kept Kaur as team leader. The three-match ODI series against New Zealand will begin on October 24.

Four uncapped players have also been selected in this squad for the New Zealand series. Richa Ghosh has not been included for this series. Richa has been excluded from the team due to the 12th standard examination. At the same time, injured Asha Shobhana has also not got a place in the team. While Pooja Vastrakar has been rested.

The new additions include Tejal Hasabnis, Sayali Satgare and Priya Mishra. Fast bowler Saima Thakor, who has played WPL, is another member of the team who is waiting for international debut. Smriti Mandhana, who is in poor form in the T20 World Cup, has been made vice-captain. Batsman Uma Chhetri, who has played four T20 Internationals, is also a part of the squad and is expected to make her ODI debut in the series.
