KKR vs LSG 2025 Venue: IPL 2025 is going to start from March 22. The first match will be played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore at Eden Gardens Stadium. A match was to be played between KKR and Lucknow Super Giants on this ground on 6 April but now there is news of a change in the schedule. This match is being shifted to Guwahati.
Ram Navami is on 6th April, on this day many religious programs are to be held in Kolkata and the police has made it clear that they will not be able to provide adequate security during the match on this day. On this day a match is to be held between Kolkata and Lucknow at Eden Gardens. Now Bengal Cricket Association President Snehasish Ganguly has given a statement.
KKR vs LSG match to be shifted to Guwahati
Ganguly told media, “We had asked the BCCI to reschedule this match. There is no possibility of hosting this match in the city in the future. And it is being heard that this match is being shifted to Guwahati.” However, an official statement from the IPL is yet to come in this regard. Ganguly said, “I had several discussions with Kolkata Police but they told me that adequate security would not be provided on that day (April 6).
Guwahati is the home ground of Rajasthan Royals
Rajasthan Royals have made Guwahati’s Barsapara Cricket Stadium their second home ground apart from Jaipur in IPL 2025. The team will play 2 matches here. The first match will be played against KKR on March 26 and the second match will be played against CSK on March 30. If the KKR vs LSG match is shifted here then it will be the third match here in IPL 2025.
74 IPL matches will be played at 13 venues
In the 18th season of IPL, a total of 74 matches will be played between 10 teams at 13 venues. The first match of the tournament and the final match of IPL 2025 will be played at Eden Gardens Stadium. Before this, Qualifier 2 will also be played on the same ground.
