A big upset in tenis occurred when Carlos Alcaraz was beaten by 6-1 7-5 6-4 by unseeded Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp in the second round of the Grand Slam on Thursday.

In a one sided match Carlos can never retaliate after the shaky start. He made unforced error throughout the match, leading him to the lost against Dutch player.

Alcaraz produced a sensational backhand early in the match. But soon he lost his form.four-times major winner’s struggles to close out points resurfaced as Van de Zandschulp broke for a 2-1 lead.

The 21-year-old was on the back foot early on as Van de Zandschulp claimed the opening three games with some resolute defending from the back of the court, and the Dutchman broke again in the sixth game en route to taking the first set.

After the bigest upset of his life, Dutchman seems to be stunned by himself. While talking to media he said, “I’m currently lost of words. Cannot describe my feelings. it’s been an amazing evening here.”

“I had some nerves but I think if you want to beat one of these guys you have to be unbelievably calm and keep your head there.” he added.

Talking about the match Carlos Alcaraz said, “this was not my day. Van de Zandschulp brilliantly and credit goes to him as well. Sports is all about ups and down and I’ll bonce back for sure”

It is noticeable that Carlos is often considered as the next big thing in tennis. But this lost Is traumatizing for his fans.

Carlos has a winning strak of 15 match in grand slam and Wimbledon. But this steak has been broken after this heart breaking loss.
