New Delhi:  Veteran Indian cricketers Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are nearing the final phase of their international careers. As leaders of Team India in the Champions Trophy 2025, they now bear the responsibility of guiding the team through the semi-finals and final to secure India’s third Champions Trophy title.

Former Indian fast bowler Praveen Kumar has expressed strong confidence in Rohit Sharma’s leadership, stating that India will end its 12-year wait for a Champions Trophy victory. Praveen, who has played alongside Rohit Sharma for both India and Mumbai Indians, believes that this could be India’s big moment.

In an interview with The Times of India, Praveen Kumar stated,
“I am confident that under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, India will lift the trophy. He is about to add another ICC title to his name. All I want to say is, Rohit and Virat, before you leave, give us one more ICC trophy!”

India’s Journey to the Semi-Finals

India began its Champions Trophy 2025 campaign with a 6-wicket victory over Bangladesh. The most anticipated match of the tournament took place on February 23, when India faced arch-rivals Pakistan. With a brilliant century from Virat Kohli, India secured another 6-wicket win, sealing a spot in the semi-finals. Now, India is set to face New Zealand on March 2, a match that will determine the group topper and semi-final matchups.

Praveen Kumar on Virat Kohli’s Form

Praveen Kumar also shared his thoughts on Virat Kohli’s performances. He dismissed doubts regarding Kohli’s struggles with deliveries outside off-stump, emphasizing that the star batter has made a strong comeback.

“Virat is playing well; he is a big-match player. There were concerns about him getting out to deliveries outside the off-stump, but is that still a problem? I don’t think so. A player of his caliber does not need many matches to regain form just one good innings is enough.”

With Rohit Sharma leading from the front and Virat Kohli in strong form, India’s chances of winning the Champions Trophy 2025 look promising. Fans are hopeful that the team will end its ICC trophy drought and bring home the title once again.
