Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) fans are now a little bit worried after they receive the news of Andre Russell’s injury. The West Indies all-rounder injured his left leg and found himself out of the field. Russell, ruling out of the ongoing West Indies vs. England series, now under medical experts observation.

Russell recently updated his social media followers about his current health status with a post. He shared a picture of his injured left ankle, wrapped in a black bandage.

Cricket West Indies in their official website stated, “As the series moves to Saint Lucia, experienced all-rounder Andre Russell has been ruled out due to a left ankle sprain sustained during the opening T20I at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on Saturday. In his place, all-rounder Shamar Springer, fresh off two T20I games against Sri Lanka, will join the squad.”

KRR retains Rinku Singh, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Harshit Rana, Varun Chakravarthy, and Ramandeep Singh for the upcoming Indian Premier League season (IPL 2025). In the last season, Russell evolved as a death over bowler. The explosive batter now has the ability to take wickets and slow down opposition’s run rate. Players like Phil Salt and Venkatesh Iyer, who helped KKR win their third IPL title, were released by the Purple Brigade.

Russell, at 36-year-old, still a reliable all-rounder in limited overs cricket for club and country. KKR and Windes fans are now praying for his speedy recovery.
