Raina, who was instrumental to the Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for over a decade, highlighted how Dhoni batted this year. While talking to media he stated, “considering how he played in last season, he was looking fit, and he should play one more season of ipl.” Raina believes that Dhoni still has more to offer with the bat despite playing with a knee injury.
Dhoni massive form in last season
Despite having a knee injury Dhoni was in brilliant form throughout the tournament. Dhoni made 161 runs in 7 innings with a massive strike rate of 220 last season. Dhoni also hit 13 spectacular hits in the tournament. His four sixes against Mumbai Indians captain Hardin Pandya were an eye pleasing moment of the tournament.
He not only brings his skills into the game, his pan India fan following also played a crucial role in shaping the morale of the team. Dhoni recently suggested that his participation in IPL 2025 will hinge on the retention rules for the upcoming mega auction. He stated, “There’s a lot of time left for the franchises and management to decide on the retention rules and everything.”
