Indian star bowler Mohammed Shami set to make a comeback on filed. Shami has claimed that he’s 100 percent pain free and want to play some domestic cricket first. But then what about IPL 2025, will Gujarat Titans going to retain Shami for the upcoming season?
Shami has been battling an ankle injury since the 2023 ODI World Cup. After the World Cup, it was known how serious his injury was. Shami has gradually regained his fitness after the surgery and hopes to return to the national team again.
“I am very happy with how I bowled yesterday. I was bowling from half run-up before that because I didn’t want to take too much load. But yesterday, I decided to go full tilt, and I bowled at 100 percent,” Mohammed Shami said.
“The result was good. I am 100 per cent pain-free. Everyone has been wondering for a long time about whether I will make it for the Australia series, but it is still some time away,”
Will he play IPL 2025 for the Gujarat Titans? Shami answered on this question, “I don’t know anything about this. The decision lies firmly with the franchise. If they feel the need to retain me, then they will. Otherwise, they won’t.” Shami was one of the main figures in Gujarat Titans. The veteran speed star had shown his class in death overs by taking wickets or by reducing opponents run rate.
Before making comeback to Team India, Shami wants to prepare himself through some domestic matches, “The only thing on my mind is to ensure that I am fit and how strong I can be for the Australia series. I can see what kind of attack we need in Australia. I have to spend more time on the ground. I want to play a couple of (Ranji Trophy) matches before I go.”
